What I like most about my bike is that it doesn't crash half as much as computers do, and is much less prone to viruses! I don't need to type ctrl+alt+del to stop it or ctrl+shift+esc to check the chain is running properly.... I love the feeling of freedom and adrenaline when I'm hurtling down the local trails in the Diois, as well as the slow pace and chance encounters when backroad cycling. It's a great way to travel without killing 200 insects and butterflies on my windsceen!

For me cycling is like sailing... on land! You glide along, into the breeze, with a great feeling of freedom... Every time I get on a bike, whether it's between home and the office, on trails during holidays or on a reccy, I get that same overwhelming feeling. I love cycling in all its forms: Backroad cycling on quiet lanes, fat biking in the dunes, or mountain biking back home in the Jura... Any excuse to get out and ride!

I've been cycling ever since I first got into BMX as a kid, going on to become a bike courier and bike shop manager in London. before opening an MTB tour company in France and Spain. I've always enjoyed travelling, whether on a mountain bike or cycle touring with panniers. More recently I've discovered the magic of bikepacking, which led to a 3-month tour in the states, the "Trans US". When I'm not working on upcoming France Bike Trips tours, you'll often find me looking at a map or preparing the next bike adventure, in the Diois or further afield...

Whether it's on my road bike or my mountain bike, the feeling of freedom is always just as intoxicating. On the road, I love riding the quiet lanes of the Bauges and the Chartreuse. The kilometres and the views fly by, and the legs begin to ache...! When mountain biking it's the thrill of the descents, the proximity to nature, and the search for great trails. And now fat biking on snow and sand is opening up a whole new world of possibilities. I think I've got plenty of cycling adventures in me yet!

Founder / director, communications manager and MTB guide

For as long as I can remember, I've always been keen to share my bike route discoveries... After several hours spent studying maps, I can still picture myself on my bike with a big smile, chuffed to have found some new trails and eager to share the experience with others. After years of focusing solely on mountain biking and the quest for the next great singletrack (including the "Intégralpes", an end to end ride of the Alpine Arc), I gradually got into cycle touring trips on and off road, as well as backroad cycling with the family. Long-distance mountain biking and bikepacking is my latest hobby, notably on the "Trans US", crossing the United States from Mexico to Canada.

An initial tour from La Rochelle to Biarritz at age 15, with panniers and a bodyboard on my back (perfect when there's a headwind...), then a mountain bike tour from Mont Saint Michel to Cassis with a 22 kilo rucksack on my back saw me plunge into cycling at the deep end. I discovered the pleasures of mapreading, putting together the pieces of a big puzzle... Then came the feeling of excitement just before setting off, the mechanicals and difficulties encountered along the way, the huge breakfasts in front of the tent, the sunsets, the great chance encounters... I was smitten with this great way to travel.
After a few years at university (Geography, then Tourism), I discovered Vélorizons: "Really? Putting together new bike tours is a job? Brilliant!"
At the foot of a winding mountain road, with a great col ahead, or on a ridgetop trail, with the promise of a great descent, biking focuses the emotions and magnifies the experience: the infinite pleasure of letting go, emptying your head, taking the time... Isn't that the greatest luxury of the 21st century?
