Day 1: Villard Reymond descent to Bourg d'Oisans

Itinerary start: France Bike Trips services begin on day 1 at 1pm at your hotel in the village of Mizoen. If you arrive by train, rendezvous at the Bourg d'Oisans SNCF railway station at 12:30pm.

On request we can book the previous night’s accommodation for you.

This circuit is based in the beautiful, traditional Oisans village of Mizoen, ideally placed to make the most of the riding in the area. Each day we make 1 or 2 minibus and trailer transfers to the start of our rides, or to join the chairlifts. Rides are between 30 and 40 km per day depending on group fitness and ability.

Vehicle up-lift to start
Our first descent, and a taster of things to come! Beginning in Villard Reymond, a typical small hilltop village, we start with a short climb up to the Col du Solude. We arrive at a lookout point with a panoramic view of the Grandes Rousses Range and the famous 21 switchbacks of the Alpe d'Huez. We then head down a superb wooded singletrack descent full of switchbacks and surprises.

Ascent: 85 m, descent: 1100 m

Day 2: The Plateau d'Emparis

Vehicle up-lift to start
Starting on the plateau, we take an alpine trail that leads us towards the lakes of the biggest alpine pasture in Europe. Our picnic on the edge of the Lac Noir offers us magnificent views of the Meije and the Râteau: 2 famous Ecrins summits in the world of alpine climbing. An endless flowing singletrack descent takes us down to the pretty mountain village of Besse.

Ascent: 450 m, descent: 1160 m

Days 3 and 4: Les 2 Alpes

Vehicle up-lift to start
Two days of riding on the best enduro trails in Les 2 Alpes, THE mountain bike destination in France. We use the extensive chairlift system to maximise the number of descents on a wide variety of singletrack trails (adapted to the group’s ability).

Ascent: approx. 400 m, descent: approx. 2600 m (per day) minimum

Days 5 and 6: L'Alpe d'Huez

On the opposite mountain to Les 2 Alpes is L'Alpe d'Huez, a renowned road bike destination, but also a mountain biking paradise... with BIG descents... Day 5 starts at the summit of the Glacier de Sarenne at 3600 m, where we follow the trails of the mythical Megavalanche.
Over the two days we take in a mixture of high altitude riding, mountain pastures and swoopy woodland singletrack.

Ascent: 500 m, descent: approx. 2400 m (per day) minimum

Day 7: L'Oisans

We finish the week on some local trails in the Oisans area. We ride a final descent from the village of Villard Notre Dame. In the same style as the one on the first day, we discover a new variant of a superb descent to Bourg d'Oisans...

Ascent: 150 m, descent: 800 m

Distance and altitude gain are an indication only and may vary.

Itinerary end: France Bike Trips services end on the last day in Mizoen at around 3pm.

On request we can book the following night's accommodation for you.
