From a bird's eye view, the mountain passes of the Route des Grandes Alpes offer sublime impressions. As road cyclists, we are just tiny dots moving along these narrow asphalt ribbons through vast natural landscapes, sometimes at breakneck speed, sometimes slowly, and only under our own muscle power, towards our next stage destination. Only the roaring mountain streams form the Alpine soundscape at this altitude, and here and there a whirring freewheel on the downhill.
The Route des Grandes Alpes by road bike is a journey into spheres where man loses his influence and nature can still unfold its pure splendour. More information about our road bike trip across the French Alps can be found here.
