Mountain bike FranceITALY - FINALE LIGURE ENDURO MINI-BREAK Enduro riding, Finale Ligure style!

Sea, sun and singletrack! Liguria is already famous in the MTB world for the trails in and around Finale Ligure, but we couldn't resist putting together a point-to-point trip. It’s mission accomplished with this circuit that takes in some of the best riding the area has to offer, coupled with the magic of following the beautiful coastline and the Mediterranean Sea! A route that takes you through lush valleys and over high summits, through small picturesque villages and sheltered creeks and bays… In the course of a day we ride through a mix of coastal vegetation, deep deciduous woodland and pine forests before finishing on the coast surrounded by palm trees! Starting on the superb singletrack trails that wind their way along the coast, we climb up into the hills each day, where an ever-changing panorama offers beautiful views of the sea and the surrounding peaks of the Ligurian Alps. Singletrack balcony trails overlooking the sea are definitely the local speciality, second only to the famous “Pesto alla Genovese”. The area is also teaming with super flowy singletrack descents that lead us all the way back down to the sea and the local “gelateria”. Then it's time for a cold drink at a bar terrace and an opportunity to wander through the historical centres of the beautiful coastal towns.

Description

Comments

  • If you would like to ride this tour as a group, please bear in mind that we cannot offer tours between the 30th of May and the 3rd of June 2019, as well as between the 26th and 30th of September 2019. Two major MTB events make it very complicated for us to organise tours during these dates.

Tour Ethos

France Bike Trips first rode in Finale Ligure a few years back, and we fell in love with the destination right from the word go! With a couple of reccy’s, then group after group, our knowledge of the area grew steadily. We knew it was time to set up a 3 or 4-day Enduro tour, taking in the best Finale has to offer.

Our accommodation is in the heart of Finale Ligure, ideally placed to make the most of the best riding in the area.
Each day we do 2 or 3 transfers with our mini-bus, equipped with a dedicated bike trailer.

The programme is flexible and can be tailored to your riding, your physical and technical level, the weather, etc.

Highlights
  • A day exploring a selection of the best singletrack trails to the east of the town, that have made the reputation of the famous "24H of Finale". We’ve tested them all, and chosen the most fun and flowy ones, avoiding those that are overly technical.
  • The Pietra Ligure sector: further west than Finale, the hills above Pietra Ligure are full of some great trails!
  • The sector to the north of Finale, with mythical descents like the "H"
  • The famous "brics", small peaks that are often the starting point of some of the best descents
  • The superb views of the Med from the mountains of the Ligurian Alps
  • The small bars overlooking the sea, perfect for a post ride cold drink...
  • The narrow alleys in the medieval historical centre of Finale Borgo

Distances covered: 40 to 60km per day
Climbing: 700 to 1200 m per day
Descending: 1500 to 2500 m per day

Distances and altitude gain are an indication only and may vary.

GPS tracks

If you choose to book a self-guided tour, we provide the GPS tracks of the route. GPX type files will be sent to you by email.

These tracks were created with GPS mapping software. In some parts, it may be that there are slight differences between the GPS track and field reality. These tracks are a "plus" that allows you to follow our route, but it does not replace the "paper" maps and common sense when out in the field...

We ask you not to publish these GPS tracks on the internet. Their development has required many hours of work, both in the field, and in the office. Thank you in advance for your understanding...
