Mountain bike spirit

Happiness is more intense when it is shared...

This sentence alone sums up our reason of being and our motivation. Sharing the joy of mountain biking means sharing our immense passion with you, having the pleasure of riding with you tracks that the France Bike Trips team has created from scratch, savoring the spice of discovery together, enjoying the moment...

The ideal mountain bike trip

Designing perfect trips

Our trips are "hand-crafted"... with one goal in mind: creating the perfect bike holiday. This starts with not missing out on the beautiful things!

Beauty and variety of landscapes, local sights and cultural interests are the main thread of our trips. As passionate mountain bikers, we take particular care of including the best local paths and trails worth riding. During our scouting trips, we look in the smallest corners for the little jewels that will charm you and will be adapted to your desires and the level you have chosen...

We favour itinerant tours, which allow you to cross or tour a region in its entirety.

Riding singletrack

Ahh, sweet, dusty, flowing singletrack... Rest assured, we share the same passion as you do! For those less familiar with the term, a "singletrack" is a narrow ribbon of trail roughly 20 to 30 cm wide. It contrasts with double track or fire road tracks which are wide enough for four-wheel drive vehicles.

For us, riding singletrack reflects the real nature of mountain biking. Riding "single track" is synonymous with pleasure, fun and technical challenge. It instantly puts a smile on our face. Our 3 technical levels allow everyone to enjoy all kinds of singletrack across France and abroad. “1-handlebar” level trips are easily accessible as they only require basic riding skills; "2-handlebar” level trips require more precise riding and braking, as well as the ability to manage switchback hairpin bends, narrow passages, breaks, rocks, steep sections... 3-handlebar trips demand an excellent riding technique as the ground is often loose and stony and the terrain steep; obstacles such as roots, steps, blocks and narrow hairpins are difficult to avoid.

As you've probably gathered, we're as passionate as you are when it comes to trails, and we take great pleasure in putting together itineraries that take in as much great singletrack as possible...

Ride light

Most of the trips we offer are itinerant and we know how important it is to ride light. Each day your luggage will be transfered to the following night's accommodation, leaving you to make the most of the day's great riding. During the day you only carry your day pack (water, picnic, camera...).

Types of travel

Guided trips

Our team of local English-speaking qualified MTB guides will be happy to share their passion, local knowledge and travel experience to ensure you have a great holiday full of superb riding and unforgettable experiences.

Riding with a guide brings you many undeniable "pluses": fluidity of the route (you don't have to rely on GPS devices or read the map!), technical advice to help you improve your riding, management of mechanical problems and hazards, information about the region or country you are riding through.

Ride in small groups! We limit the size of our groups to 12 people (except for private groups). This offers security, convivality and fluid riding!

Self-guided trips

Most of our mountain bike trips are available in a self-guided version. Self-guided trips are designed for people with mountain bike travel experience, map reading and orientation skills. You can start on the date of your choice in groups from 2 people.

We take care of booking half-board accommodation for you, transporting your luggage and providing you with GPS tracks and detailed digital maps (in printable PDF format) with highlighted itineraries, as well as additional route information where necessary.

Self-organised trips

Self-organised trips are aimed at those who only want to take advantage of our itineraries (and therefore be sure to ride on the most beautiful trails to cross or tour a region...) and of our information on accommodation.

These tours are aimed at experienced people who are totally autonomous and wish to manage the transport of their luggage and the booking of their accommodation themselves. We provide the digital maps (in printable PDF format) with the highlighted itinerary, the GPS tracks and the list of accommodations where France Bike Trips stops for the night.

Inspirations

Les inspirations

In France and Europe, there are a thousand and one ways to travel by mountain bike or go on a mountain bike holiday. We have created a couple of fun and attractive themes to help you be inspired and make your choice.

Among our proposals, the pleasure of riding is declined in multiple ways: hurtle down trails in Enduro mode, cross the massifs with our great crossings, choose mountain bike tours that abound in single-track trails with our Single track addict selection and, of course, discover the heights of the Alps with our Epic Alpine bike adventures! And why not let yourself be dazzled by our breathtaking trips?

E-Mountain bike trips

Do you ride an e-mountain bike? We have 2 types of tours on offer:

- e-mtb compatible tours
If you want to ride an e-bike in a quiet way and follow the rhythm of the participants in classic mountain bike, these tours are made for you. All our tours that do not involve hike-a-bike sections have this label.

- exclusive e-mtb tours
If you want to ride only with participants equipped with an e-bike, these tours are for you. We offer two types of exclusive e-mtb tours: either technically easy, at the "1 handlebar" level, with descents mainly on wide, 4x4 double track (which can be sporadically steep and/or rocky), or fun and technical, at the "2 or 3 handlebar" level, with descents on single tracks that are more or less technical depending on the level chosen.

Please note, that the e-mtb does not reduce the technical requirements, so pay close attention to the technical level of the trips when making your choice.

Transparency and quality

We are very attentive to the quality of the services provided by our tour leaders and guides, accommodation, meals and transfers, as well as to the "intrinsic" quality of the tour: itinerary, points of interest and difficulty.

In the description of each of our tours, we give you the details of what is included and not included in our prices. No unpleasant surprises or advertising effects with a price that hides unforeseen expenses or a less rosy reality. Unlike many of our colleagues, we have chosen not to apply registration fees (which can artificially lower the price of a tour).
