France Bike Trips Travel Formulas

"Discover the French Bike Touch with local specialists"

When we create a new tour we have one thing in mind: creating the perfect bike holiday. First we make sure the itinerary takes in all the beautiful sights the area has to offer! Varied and beautiful landscapes, as well as interesting cultural and heritage sites are the common thread of our trips. As passionate mountain bikers, we also know that the choice of trails is fundamental to the success of a mountain bike holiday. During our reconnaissance trips, we ride every valley, every trail we can find, in order to choose the best trails and root out the hidden gems. We then piece together an itinerary suited to your level of riding. The majority of our tours are itinerant, meaning you get to discover new trails, descents, summits and valleys each day.

If you enjoy riding through breathtaking landscapes… on great trails and superb flowing singletrack... whilst discovering the most beautiful areas of France... our tours are for you!

ABOUT OUR MOUNTAIN BIKE TOURS

Singletrack

Ahh, sweet, dusty, flowing singletrack... Rest assured, we share the same passion as you do! France Bike Trips MTB tours are all about riding great trails in great locations. If there's a singletrack option, we'll be taking it!
For those less familiar with the term, a "singletrack" is a narrow ribbon of trail roughly 20 to 30 cm wide. It contrasts with double track or fire road tracks which are wide enough for four-wheel drive vehicles. Singletrack is all about having fun and enjoying the ride, but isn't necessarily technically difficult. The singletrack on "2 handlebars" level tours is mainly smooth and flowing, without obstacles. In contrast the trails on "3 handlebars" level tours can be steep and technical, with roots, rocks and switchback hairpin bends... As you've probably gathered, we're as passionate as you are when it comes to trails, and we take great pleasure in putting together itineraries that take in as much great singletrack as possible...

Luggage transfers

Most of the trips we offer are itinerant and we know how important it is to ride light. Each day your luggage will be transfered to the following night's accommodation, leaving you to make the most of the day's great riding.

During the day you only carry your day pack (water, picnic, camera...).

Accommodation

We favour comfortable accommodation with warm hospitality. Our standard price is based on 2* and 3* hotels and comfortable guest houses with double rooms and en-suite facilities.
For private groups and self-guided trips it is possible to customise the accommodation (upgrade) depending on offer and availability.

Food

Our tours are also a great opportunity to discover the famous French gastronomy.
We pay very careful attention to the quality and the variety of your meals, using fresh and local produce wherever possible.
Please note that it is possible to organise custom tours with a strong gastronomical theme (wine and cheese tasting, etc.).
Typical meals:
* Continental breakfast taken at the accommodation
* For lunch, we offer 3 options based on your preferences:
- A picnic, to be carried in your day pack. It contains an individual salad (pasta salad, rice salad ), cold meats, cheese, bread and fruit.
- "Race food" for those who are "allergic" to backpacks: energy bars, dried fruit.
- No lunch organised by France Bike Trips, leaving you free to stop and eat when and where you choose (restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores...)
* Cereal bars and dried fruit for breaks
* In the evening, a hearty dinner (3 to 4 course meal) with local produce, at the overnight accommodation or in a nearby restaurant

Group size

We limit the size of our groups to 12 persons (except for pre-constituted groups). This offers security, convivality and fluid riding!

We are very attentive to the quality of our guides, accommodation, meals, transfers and the "intrinsic" quality of our trips: itinerary, places of interest, technical and physical levels, etc.
