Corona-compliant: Our road bike tours with support vehicle 2020

For 20 years now, you have been discovering the mountains and hills of lonely parts of France and Europe on our road bike tours, away from the mass tourism on beaches, in cities and at other sights. On our tours, limited to 20 places with support vehicle, you will ride alone, in pairs or in a small group on roads with little traffic. In line with the France Bike Trips philosophy, all our partner hotels, b&b and guest houses are owner-managed, small and personal. Therefore, with the appropriate care and mutual respect, you can ride "corona-compliant" and safe on our tours in 2020, and enjoy your cycling holiday in France!

Based on current official recommendations, we have developed the following guidelines and measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 on our tours.

When booking and before the tour

We are happy to advise you on the current epidemiological situation in all our destinations in France. We make the decision to carry out our tours based on the current situation. If possible, carry a protective mask and hand disinfectant in your luggage and, as always, make sure you have valid travel health insurance cover.

On the day of departure

We are again allowed to organize our road bike tours with up to 20 participants. Please keep the recommended minimum distances at the meeting point with the group on the day of departure. Your tour guide will familiarize you with the tour organization with a short briefing.

On the road

During the day in the saddle we ask you to respect the prescribed minimum distance of 2 m between two cyclists (if you are not from the same household) (formerly 10 m).

During lunch breaks

Lunch will be organised as usual along the route by your tour guide. He/she will ensure that only a limited number of participants help themselves to the buffet at the same time and that the necessary safety distance is maintained during the meal. You will have the opportunity to wash your hands in advance. Hand disinfectant is also always available in the support vehicle.

For transfers

In our minibuses there is a mask obligation for the return transfers.

In the accommodations

Our partners - hotels, b&b, guest houses, restaurants - have already been preparing for the reopening of their activity for several weeks. Through their own measures, they guarantee that you, as a guest, can be safely accommodated and dined within the sanitary regulations. Adapted distance and hygiene rules apply: Up to 10 persons at one table, 1 m distance between tables, masks must be worn by staff and guests when moving around in closed spaces. We will inform you prior to your trip on the measures taken by our partners. Our tour guide will check this on the day of your arrival.

What about sociability?

Social moments will undoubtedly take place in strict compliance with the barrier measures. We are convinced that keeping the minimum distance will not harm sociability.

Your tour guide

If you have been on the road with us before, you know his/her role as a guardian angel. He/she will support you on your road bike tour with a protective mask and wash/disinfect his/her hands regularly. This also applies to the surfaces that are often touched by the participants: door handles of the vehicle, tools, pump, etc. He/she will also be available to answer your questions, suggestions and concerns, as always.

Even if the corona virus touches us all in our habits: we can still assure you that we will again experience wonderful road bike adventures together in 2020. All the more important this year are mutual consideration and attentiveness, also on the bike. We take care of it, that's our job!

Let us take care of ourselves together!

Your France Bike Trips team
