Amélie Already as a child, Amélie spent a lot of time in the Savoy mountains, racing over hill and dale. When she sat on an MTB for the first time, a whole new perspective on things opened up for her. She loves to be rewarded for her efforts on the climbs with great and playful trail descents. She is happy to share this passion with our guests and also has some very good local tips. |
Anatole A few years ago, Anatole fell in love with the Diois (Drôme Valley) and has since enjoyed cycling through this beautiful area every day on his way to work. He grew up in the east of France. At Velorizons, he makes sure that everything fits technically and that your online experience with Vélorizons runs smoothly. |
David David rode a bike earlier than he could walk... No, that's not quite true, of course. But in his family the bicycle was sacred. His father passed on his passion to him. And since then, the Velo has never let him go. As a child, it meant freedom, play and escape. As a teenager, there were competitions: testing yourself, surpassing yourself and pushing the limits. Today, he is developing our backroad cycling trips. Cycling through France for our guests, always on the lookout for new pleasure routes - what a pleasure. But for him, the bicycle also has a symbolic meaning: a return to a simpler life, (almost) without planes and cars, focusing on the essential things in life. Even though he has seen a lot, he is always discovering new horizons. The legs pedalling, the head in the clouds, that is his very personal meditation! |
Dominik Raised on a farm in a small village in the land of a thousand mountains (the Sauerland in Westphalia), amidst meadows, pastures, football fields and Christmas tree nurseries, he moved to the French Alps ten years ago out of love for the mountains. It is said that the tv scenes of the legendary climbs of the Tour de France were not entirely innocent of this. In addition to running shoes and touring skis, he rides a road bike, an MTB and a gravel bike in the vast playground that opens up to travellers south of Lake Geneva. The bike is his preferred means of transport in everyday life as well as a means of escape at the weekend and an excellent travel companion - whether on lonely mountain roads, gently rolling dirt tracks or breathtaking single trails. With his multilingual profile, he is happy to introduce you to the highlights of French biking and cycling destinations. |
Julien Whether it's on my road bike or my mountain bike, the feeling of freedom is always just as intoxicating. On the road, I love riding the quiet lanes of the Bauges and the Chartreuse. The kilometres and the views fly by, and the legs begin to ache...! When mountain biking it's the thrill of the descents, the proximity to nature, and the search for great trails. And now fat biking on snow and sand is opening up a whole new world of possibilities. I think I've got plenty of cycling adventures in me yet! |
Marine For Marine, our video and photo expert, the bicycle is her best friend - in everyday life as well as on holiday, which actually always takes place on two wheels. After many trips on a touring bike, she recently discovered a lot on a mountain bike in bikepacking style. It was love at first sight, so to speak. In the office, she is at home in the visual world of bike travel, which also inspires her in her free time! |
Pascal For as long as I can remember, I've always been keen to share my bike route discoveries... After several hours spent studying maps, I can still picture myself on my bike with a big smile, chuffed to have found some new trails and eager to share the experience with others. After years of focusing solely on mountain biking and the quest for the next great singletrack (including the "Intégralpes", an end to end ride of the Alpine Arc), I gradually got into cycle touring trips on and off road, as well as backroad cycling with the family. Long-distance mountain biking and bikepacking is my latest hobby, notably on the "Trans US", crossing the United States from Mexico to Canada. |
Régine For Régine, learning to ride a bike was not an easy task at first. She grew up on the slopes of the sun-drenched Valais Alps, where flat stretches of road are scarce. So she first started skiing. As a teenager, she discovered mountain biking, and she really liked touring in the mountains (with a few crashes, of course!). Later, she went on longer bike and MTB trips with panniers or backpacks - on the roads of the world and in the Alps at home. Since then, she has never let go of the desire for adventure and cycling in all its forms, whether on outings with friends, on spontaneous holidays or on the way to work. |
Vincent An initial tour from La Rochelle to Biarritz at age 15, with panniers and a bodyboard on my back (perfect when there's a headwind...), then a mountain bike tour from Mont Saint Michel to Cassis with a 22 kilo rucksack on my back saw me plunge into cycling at the deep end. I discovered the pleasures of mapreading, putting together the pieces of a big puzzle... Then came the feeling of excitement just before setting off, the mechanicals and difficulties encountered along the way, the huge breakfasts in front of the tent, the sunsets, the great chance encounters... I was smitten with this great way to travel. After a few years at university (Geography, then Tourism), I discovered Vélorizons: "Really? Putting together new bike tours is a job? Brilliant!" At the foot of a winding mountain road, with a great col ahead, or on a ridgetop trail, with the promise of a great descent, biking focuses the emotions and magnifies the experience: the infinite pleasure of letting go, emptying your head, taking the time... Isn't that the greatest luxury of the 21st century? |
